Thoughts from Wendi Bushehry
Posted: March 26, 2012 Filed under: Mapping | Tags: coordination, hubs, who 2 CommentsHi, I was part of the conversation on March 8th about Mapping out the next steps for arts integration project. The questions and thoughts I have are; and I’m coming from the teaching artist perspective, I feel there is a disconnect right now with the transition process, we have these models of programs that work so we need to identify which way we want to go. Do we want one place for teaching artists to work from? or are the teaching artists to develop there own program and work together. We need a logo, forms, website, some kind of collateral to give to the schools, administrators. We need a place for teaching artist to go and find out information and we need an easy artful place for teachers, administrator to go and sign up for what they want. So, this is what I’ve been thinking about and I just want to hear what other people think. Thank you for taking your time!
Hi Wendy,
Appreciate your thoughts–all good questions. I’m working with the Alliance design team and would like to encourage you to get connected with Teaching Artists Organized if you’re not already. Great opportunities for dialogue on these issues as well as networking, newsletter, services and opportunities for professional development, advocacy and generally plugging in to teaching artist community. Hi Wendy ~
Important issues you are raising….. I think that Ann’s advice is right. In addition, the Alliance for ALL is soon to launch a new website and maybe we can think with TAO about how we link to provide easier exchange of information between schools/school districts and teaching artist community. I also want to encourage you to attend the synthesis meeting on April 5, 9 am – 11 am at the ACOE to join the Alliance for ALL Steering committee in culling the important ideas and issues emerging from conversations.
